Elihue Waite Rice, born Jan 1813 in Danville, Illinois. Married
Alice Ada Westbrook 28th Oct 1886 in Jetmore, Hodgeman co., Kansas. Died Feb 5th 1921 in Cement City, Jackson co., Missouri.
Burried in Mound Grove Cem. in Independance, Missouri.
Elihue was a farmer during the time he was married to Alice. While farming also including raising
sheep. But after almost 19 years he decided he had enough and on March 1905 left Alice and his six children. By
Dec 4th 1906 Alice successfully filed for divorce and claims for land and property.
After leaving Alice it seems that Elihue then went into the Rail Road. And on Feb 5th 1921
was hit by a Train in Cement City, Missouri. While cleaning out cars for Kansas city Portland Cement company.
He was staying with his son-in-law Herman Ralston husband of Nellie. He was buried at Mound Grove Cemetery in
Independance Missouri. Lot 136 Block 1 grave 3.
