In 1908 Guy married Alice Westbrook Rice in 1908 a woman who already had nine children. Two of which were grown and the
other seven rest ranging from 5 to 17. In his lifetime, he worked as a farmer, on the Rail Road as a machinist, and
by the time he was 40 he worked as a copper miner in Montana.
Between 1916 and 1920 he seemed to appear to be still associated with the family. Guy E. after leaving, shows
up in records in 1929 he had remarried and was living with Matilda in Montana, Matilda being 17 years old when
married. and later had two more children.
According to what I heard from Guy and Vivian, Guy E. left around 1920ish, leaving Guy O. to take
care of the family. So by the time Guy O. was around 12 -14years old and he had to support a full families lifestyle. Dorthy
and Mildred were out of the house. So this left Guy O. to take care of a mom and four kids from 4 to 9
years old.
By 1929 Guy E. re-married to a 18 year old German girl Named Matilda and
moved to Montana where he worked in a copper mine. Then after 1930 had three more children: John, Grace, and
Teddy.
By 1935 Guy (58 in the
1940 census) moved to King Co. Washington in Seattle and resided there with Matilda (27)who was born 1913 in North Dakota
per 1940 census and his family until the 1940's census at that time his highest education was the 8th grade, and he
was unemployed. He had two children John T (9)b. 1931 and Gracie L.(8) b. 1932 it has come to a little digging that
it is possible that John T forbes is John Ted Forbes who resided locally and died not to long ago in Portland, OR. on July
10, 2011. Further information is needed.
