Alice seems to have so many sides to her that she ended up twisting a little when I started doing a search for information
on her. First point was that according to family records she was born either in Lancaster, Schuyler co., Mo. or Ottumwa,
Iowa. I decided that sence Schuyler was listed by her, that is what I went with. Please note that there really
is only a difference of 42.4 miles.
From what I could gather from the information I collected her life went something like this: Mary Jane Crawford and Mr.
Murray had Alice in 1872. Mr. Murray was born in Scotland and died in 1872. Mary then Married Alex Westbrook in
Early 1873. In 1880 Alex her step father died and shortly after her mom also died that year leaving her and her four
siblings to be raised by someone else who is believed to be the Spanglers.
But six years later, at age16 she married Elihue Rice in 28 Oct 1886. Then proceeded to have nine children and after 20 year she divorced Elihue.
Then married Guy Emerson Forbes in 1908 and had another five children. Which lasted about the same amount of time before
it also ended.
